Around Green Turtle Cay
Beautiful beaches and restaurants are close by,
reachable by foot, bicycle or economical golf cart. Golf
carts and bicycles are available for rental. Advance booking
is recommended.
At Ocean Beach on the Atlantic coast, you can snorkel
on the reef that is easily accessible just off the shoreline.
Snorkeling, diving and fishing guides are available
for half or full day trips.

You can enjoy fresh seafood grilled on the beach
as part of Brendal’s reef and island adventure picnic lunch.
Gillam Bay is gorgeous and shallow - a great place
to swim, walk or look for shells and sand dollars.
Coco Bay and Bight O'Bay are two other very lovely
beaches.
If you walk down around the point,
you'll find the town flats - a great spot for flyfishing for bonefish.
The Sea of Abaco is known for its fine bonefish, and
the world-record fish of over 17lbs was caught in the region in
1999.

This 12 lb bonefish specimen was caught in June 2005.
Boats are also available for rental - another great way to explore
the island and neighboring cays.
Munjack Cay is readily accessible
by boat...
...and offers beautiful beaches, usually deserted.
The lovely historic village of New Plymouth on Green
Turtle Cay is about 3 miles away from the house. New Plymouth
has grocery stores, gift shops, restaurants, a liquor store, a
post office and bank.
There is also a sculpture garden, museum and other
interesting tourist spots.
Bahamian restaurants abound - be sure to try the
cracked conch and conch fritters!
